Well, maybe recently it is even abused by gangs of bored teenagers, nevertheless this is a solid tradition here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4565845984512808077.post-51310099370007084472014-04-22T17:40:19.980+02:002014-04-22T17:40:19.980+02:00Adagamov has just written about this, with photos!...Adagamov has just written about this, with photos!Studiolumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06377777909296284368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4565845984512808077.post-25685469840591388332014-04-22T07:43:52.030+02:002014-04-22T07:43:52.030+02:00Here in the Czech Republic, there is a similar Eas...Here in the Czech Republic, there is a similar Easter Monday ritual. Similar at least in the fact that females are the target of male attention. The men go around with braided willow switches decorated with ribbons, and may “whip” the lower legs of any woman they meet. The woman is supposed to give them a colored egg to make the stop, and often the men are invited in for a palinka. Apparently the roots of this practice are a pagan fertility ritual (not hard to believe, given the symbolism).Lloyd Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08215855379263509739noreply@blogger.com
