The windows of the recently opened second floor auditorium of the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences overlook the Danube and the Castle of Buda. The scene is a serious competitor of the lecturers. Just like in the Biblioteca Nazionale of Florence where all the windows of the old reading room overlook the Arno and the San Miniato, so that it is virtually impossible to work.
The new auditorium was inaugurated yesterday with the Alexander Kégl memorial conference and with the solemn presentation of our Kégl site. The familiar atmosphere of the whole day long conference was also enhanced by the readers of Río Wang who were represented in a pleasant number. Thanks to everybody for it.
a guardare bene, attaccati a quei tetti o adagiati in un angolo di strada, o proprio in riva al Danubio, dovrebbero esserci ancora gli sguardi di meraviglia che ho lasciato tanti, troppi anni fa.

ResponderEliminarBeautiful pictures. I wish I was there. That really looks just like the Arno!
ResponderEliminarJust come whenever you wish. This sight will be here for a long time (at least I hope so, because in this part of the world you can never know it for sure). And I also will be here (for an incomparably shorter while) to show you around. If you come the day after tomorrow, you can also buy one of those Lenins for four euros and transform it into an enviable work of art that the Ministry of Justice will buy back for heavy millions.
ResponderEliminarMy passport has lapsed. I'm stuck here until January, probably. I hope I will come one day, though.
