Magnificent photos. The substance and texture of time, palpably captured -- revealing so much of reality while at the same time concealing so much more
of that mystery which is far too complicated to be simplified into the catch-all word "history". But here, one can almost feel its touch, as might a blind person in the dark.

For who or where else are we?
